What is SaaS?

Software as a Service (SaaS) is software that runs on the provider’s infrastructure and is accessed over the internet, typically on a subscription basis. The provider is responsible for uptime, upgrades, backups and security, which is why SaaS products are built around continuous deployment and monitoring.
