Website, web app, PWA, or native app — how do I choose?

Start with what the product needs from the device. Content that must be found through search suits a website. A tool that users sign in to and work in suits a web application. If the product must work offline or needs the camera, background location or a home-screen presence, a PWA or native app is more appropriate. The choice between those two depends mainly on whether you need app store distribution and native platform APIs.
