Ali Obaid

Ali Obaid is Director of Commerce at Panzex Solutions. In e-commerce he is better known as Obaid Merchant, the name under which he built his reputation, and he is the founder of Syndicate Skills. Across the two he has spent a decade in online retail, a field that measures work by a single outcome: whether what was built sold.

He arrived at it by an indirect route, working where circumstances required while he learned the trade, including day jobs, labouring work and a period driving a rickshaw. He states the belief that carried him through in consistent terms: success belongs to those who refuse to stop trying.

He built his skills incrementally, through repeated failure and revision, until he could earn a stable six-figure income without leaving Pakistan. He is direct about where the real difficulty lay. The knowledge was available to him; the guidance was not, and working without it meant judging alone which of ten thousand possible priorities mattered in a given week.

That observation shaped Panzex Solutions, and it is why the director responsible for the company’s commercial side also runs a platform that teaches the route he had to find unaided.
