Does a B2B company need social media?
A B2B company needs enough social media presence to make a credible impression when prospects look it up. Beyond that, social media is most effective for B2B through the personal accounts of practitioners, as buyers tend to follow people rather than company pages.
The main benefits for B2B are credibility, recruitment and relationships. Direct leads from company-page posting are less common and should not be the primary goal.
Practitioners sharing what they are learning, such as problems solved and approaches tested, demonstrates expertise and can generate inbound enquiries.
Focus on the platform where your industry is most active, usually one primary platform and possibly one technical community.
At a minimum, maintain a complete and current company profile with a clear description, linked team members and a link to your website.
